Locking precision
The solid carbide boring bar fits precisely into the adaptor with a locating pin. Collet-clamped adaptors ensure rigid clamping with increased stability.

Internal coolant
All adaptors for CoroTurn® XS are designed with internal coolant supply. Collet-clamped adaptors have selectable coolant direction for better chip evacuation and safe machining.

iLock Design
Tools with iLock® design have rails or serrations on the tool holder and corresponding slots on the insert for a tight locking. This prevents the cutting forces from affecting the tool position and ensures:
- High stability and tolerances
- Indexing repeatability
- Insert location accuracy within ±0.05 mm (±0.002 inch)

Chip control and process security
Pre-directed precision nozzles create laminar jets of over and under coolant with high velocity, directed at the right place of the insert edge. It is the precision and character of these jets that make the difference in terms of chip control and process security.

Handling efficiency
The coolant is easily connected thanks to support from a large assortment of plug and play adaptors including Coromant Capto®, VDI and machine specific adaptors for turning centres and QS™ stops (QS™ shanks) for sliding head machines.

CoroTurn SL is a modular system of adaptors and cutting heads with which you can build customized tools for a variety of turning applications with a minimum amount of items. The robust coupling and many combination possibilities makes it ultimate for building a tool for machining complex components.

The modularity of CoroTurn SL opens the door to Silent Tools™ damped boring bars. This solution ensures maintained productivity and close tolerances in operations with long overhangs and other vibration-prone situations. As the same boring bar can be used for various types of cutting heads, you can use it for several operations.

CoroTurn SL includes SL70 interface – an oval coupling which provides both excellent rigidity and accessibility, making it optimum for profiling and grooving operations on large components. Clearance is applied for external and internal machining so each cutting head can be used in both configurations.
